Terms of Use

These terms help ensure safe, predictable and respectful use of Smile Taxi services for passengers, customers and business partners.

Welcome to Smile Taxi. By using our service, you agree to these terms and to the rules that help keep every ride safe, professional and convenient for all parties involved.

1. Luggage and animals

Luggage

  • The size and weight of luggage depend on the technical capacity of the vehicle and safe transport requirements.
  • Loading and unloading standard luggage is provided without an extra fee unless special assistance is required.

Animals

  • Dogs are allowed only with a muzzle and in a way that keeps the vehicle interior clean and undamaged.
  • Other pets may be transported only with prior driver approval and strictly in a closed carrier or cage.
  • Animals must not move freely around the passenger cabin during the ride.

Items prohibited from transport

  • sharp, dangerous or explosive items;
  • flammable, toxic, corrosive or otherwise hazardous substances;
  • weapons without appropriate casing and handling safeguards;
  • cargo that may damage the interior, trunk or other passengers' property;
  • items that obstruct the driver's visibility or interfere with vehicle control.

As an exception, gas cylinders up to 5 litres and fuel canisters may be transported only if made of anti-static materials and secured safely.

2. When a driver may refuse or stop a ride

A driver may refuse an order or stop a ride if:

  • the passenger is under strong influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances;
  • the passenger behaves aggressively, abusively or in an unsafe manner;
  • there are reasonable signs of possible unlawful behaviour;
  • children or animals requiring special preparation were not disclosed when the order was placed;
  • the number of passengers exceeds the number of available seat belts;
  • the amount of luggage makes safe transport impossible;
  • in a cash-payment situation, the passenger reasonably asked for an advance by the driver refuses to provide it.

3. Order cancellation and access restriction

  • The customer may cancel an order without penalty unless a different rule is explicitly agreed in an individual arrangement.
  • If a customer makes more than 3 unjustified cancellations within a calendar month, their number may be restricted or blacklisted.

The standard review period for a request or complaint is up to 7 calendar days.

5. Responsibilities of users and drivers

Passenger responsibilities:

  • follow safety rules and the driver's lawful instructions;
  • treat the driver and other passengers respectfully;
  • avoid damaging the vehicle or creating risk for others during the ride;
  • provide accurate information when placing an order.

Driver responsibilities:

  • follow road traffic law and Smile Taxi service standards;
  • provide safe, professional and respectful transportation;
  • act within the laws of the Republic of Latvia and the platform's internal rules.
